A little vacation.
July 1st, 2007
I’m nearly done the quilt and still poking away at the socks but…I think it’s time for me to take a month or so off from the old blog so that I (hopefully) have some fun and exciting things–and maybe even a finished project or two–the next time that I do post. We have a civic holiday here on August 6, so I’ll make a point of reappearing on or before August 7 to give everyone the lowdown on what I’ve been up to. Those of you who have succumbed to the disease called Facebook can always reach me there if something urgent–like a yarn sale or, better yet, free yarn!–comes up.
In the meantime, have a lovely July with just the right amounts of light and darkness, rain and sun. For all us Canadians, Happy Canada Day. For all you Americans, Happy Independence Day. For everyone everywhere else in the world (and, what the hell, everyone in our part of the world too), strive to be happy every day, and we’ll all meet up again soon!

I think I know what you mean about needing it.
Damn, I’ve been anti-conformist-no-Facebook, with barely any temptations… and now you say YARN SALES, and even FREE YARN are posted on Facebook? I suppose I’m doomed.

Oh Mary, we’re all doomed. Particularly when it comes to Facebook. That said, I’m not the one who said yarn sales and free yarn are posted there. One sec.
Well, there are 200+ groups that come up when you search for “yarn”, and one of them is FaceBay, which is for buying, selling and trading…so I suspect whoever told you this is correct.
I may have to extend my vacation!

Hey Lin, just a bit of (mental, if not physical) rest and relaxation…I’m due to post here on Monday or Tuesday, so I’ll let everyone know then how successful I’ve been!
And Mary, I really should reread my posts before I reply to any comments. Of course I’m the one who mentioned messages of YARN SALES and FREE YARN on Facebook! As you can see, I really needed this vacation.
