My Summer Vacation #5: Knitting!
September 6th, 2007
Oh my God–some actual knitting at knitlikeaman.com! Will wonders never cease!
Actually, and this will come as no surprise to some of you, I have knit this wee section (200-odd stitches across, but still) over and over and over again–knit, unknit, knit, unknit, knit, unknit–about a dozen times. It’s feather-and-bloody-fan, for heaven’s sake! I made it through the vastly more complicated Stormwater seasilk scarf, the entire scarf, with only about three or four such horror shows, so what is wrong with me now?
Ah well–more on that later! For now, the little afghan/lapghan/WTF has begun. I shall retreat back into my brain fog, and then get myself ready for work (ugh).

For some reason, feather and fan makes me crazy. So simple, but so…i don’t know. I have a scarf in the pattern that has been nicknamed “the orange scarf of doom”.

Oh, heck. It took me about six tries to get the first 2-square-inch section of my Icarus shawl done, and it was just yarn overs! Some patterns don’t stick in my brain, and it has nothing to do with complexity. My guess is everyone has the same problem, just with different patterns.

You’re funny! An equally talented knitter/writer. Thanks for your contribution to knitty re: knitting machines.
