One gift short?
December 25th, 2007
Here we are–on the Holiday That Must Not Be Named! (And a merry one to you and yours!)
If you’re like me, you’re up and wrapping and tagging and going down the list to make sure you’ve got everyone…and you don’t. You screwed up and forgot someone who’s going to be at dinner in about seven hours and WTF are you supposed to do now??
Enter the one day, one skein emergency gift, courtesy of John Brinegar — the neckie, from his pattern titled Fourteen. Faster than a scarf, more unusual than a hat, and adaptable to pretty much any yarn as long as you have the co-ordinating needles. You can easily toss one off before turkey time–so get cracking!
(All us Ukrainians know we have till Epiphany–which is our Christmas–to get everything done, so we be chillin’ around the eggnog today! Cheers!)

Even though it’s now December 28, I still want to wish you a merry you-know-what and a happy and knitful 2008. I really like that necktie. It looks warm and thick and I’m sure it would knit up very fast.

Happy Belated You-Know-What Day LOL and peace in the New Year 2008. I also wanted to give you kudos for having the courage to write about your experience with the demons that are anxiety and depression in the Fall ‘07 Knitty. I, too, suffer from these monsters. Thanks for putting it out there! There are many of us, our illnesses are real, and we aren’t going anywhere! And I agree–knitting helps, especially with really nice, expensive yarn! LOL Take care, stay strong, and keep on knitting.
