I got a nice little note from Akismet today:

Akismet has caught 50000 for you since you installed it.

Since November, it has stopped 40,000 spam comments (220 per day approximately) and appears to be very accurate. I can’t thank the creators enough - without it, this community would have died months ago under the deluge of spam.
