Red nose day - game making weekend
Next weekend The Game Creators (TGC), the people who develop DarkBASIC a 3d game programming language developed for hobbyists, are going to be running a game development weekend. They are asking people to create small fun games which they can then package and sell, giving the proceeds to charity.
The plan is to do the following:
- Create fun Retro/puzzle/casual/fun games with the focus on using a Red Nose
- All games to be for 3+ year olds
- Less than 10 megs in size (zipped) - ideally as small as possible.
- Coded in any language you like
All games will then be compiled into a big download and we will then charge $10 a copy (or if you want you can donate more). All monies raised will be donated to the charity.
This is all in aid of Red Nose Day - a charity event that is run every year to try and help people less advantaged than ourselves (mostly third world countries).
You can read more about the game making weekend on the TGC forum, and you can check out information about Red Nose Day on the Red Nose Day website.

That’s a nice idea - but what’s it all about. The Red Nose website besides it’s red if not clearly speaking to me. Maybe I can digg the info somewhere on their site ?
English people will know all about Red Nose Day, it’s run every year. AFAIK It was started by a bunch of comedians (hence the clowns red nose) and is all about raising money for disadvantaged countries. Traditionally people get sponsored to do crazy things like men getting there legs waxed, or taking a bath in some baked beans - this is one of the more sane ideas I’ve heard
