5 Reasons I Blog

So, I’ve been tagged by GANB in my first meme. I can’t say that I’ve actually thought about why I blog, but what better time to do that than now. So excuse the departure from the norm around here, but here are the 5 reasons I blog…

Passion. Ever since I was first introduced to web design and development, I became addicted. Of course the industry has its positives and negatives, but never (since starting) have I thought about doing anything else. I honestly think that this is the best industry to be in.

I like to write. This one is pretty self-explanatory. I just like writing. I often have opinions about things that I just like to express through my writing, therefore, I blog.

Knowledge. Now, I’m no expert, but I do feel like that people (especially beginners) can learn from my blog. I guess you can kind of say, that this is a way that I can give back. When I first started out, there were lots of other blogs that I read, and learned a great deal from, so I hope that the knowledge that I’ve gained since I started can help out others seeking to learn as well.

Self-promotion. Anyone that does freelance work knows that a little self promotion never hurts. Blogging [sometimes] helps to show that you are knowledgeable about a certain topic, therefore, trust that you know what you are talking about. So this blog helps to promote myself. It is also the easiest, and fastest way to spread the word to the most people. And costs are low!

Networking. When you start blogging, it’s almost a given that you meet people. So I’ve made some pretty great connections through blogging, that I would not have been able to make any other way.

So, there you have it. That is why I blog, and will continue doing so until I burn out, which I hope is no time soon. With that said, I would like to tag a few others see their 5 reasons for blogging…
