Project Nissan 240SX: Day 4

I didn’t get much done today as I was busy taking care of my non-240SX life. Managed to log about 2 hours of work today though and really cleared up a lot of the engine-bay in preparation for hauling the motor out. I’m still in the process of searching for a donor engine, decided to get the KA24DE as I figure if I’ve got to rip the engine and transmission out I might as well toss in a DOHC engine while I’m at it.
Progress
I’m still having a positive nightmare pulling the head off this engine. I must be missing a few bolts or something on the intake manifold but it’s still firmly attached to the block. I managed to pull the water pump off, alternator, exhaust manifold, thermostat cover, alternator bracket, disconnect the motor mount attached to the intake manifold, and every visible bolt connecting the intake manifold to the block. Both motor mounts are visible and I’m certain I could just remove the AC compressor from the block and then drop the entire transmission and block assembly out the bottom of the car and haul it out of the garage.
The Plan
Tomorrow will be predominately spent making phone calls to track down the replacement parts I need. I’d really like to strip and rebuild a block but I can’t afford the components for that so I just need to find that special KA24DE for me. I’m hoping someone in Atlanta will have a wrecked S13 with a KA24DE in it so I can pull everything needed out of it, otherwise I’ll have a nightmare ahead of me piecing together the parts. Should make some serious progress tomorrow.
Building a drifting machine out of it?
Not directly but I’m sure I’ll take a few stabs at sliding sideways. I’d rather have a second 240sx that I can drift and not worry about wrecking. I just want something fun, this should do it.
