As I continue my descent into psychotic madness delightful adventure with the Baby Surprise Jacket (so named because it will be a surprise if any of my friends’ offspring are still babies by the time it’s finished), I realized that I had been neglecting you–and you–and you–and yes, even you.
So I wanted to introduce you to something from Australia that’s even more precious than Tim Tams, if such a thing could be possible.
Meet Mr. G, the drama teacher at Summer Heights High (produced by ABC Australia and soon to air on HBO and BBC):
After being fired from teaching, Mr. G bravely goes on to produce the high school musical that he has written (rather different from
that High School Musical)–based on some of the students’ true life experiences. The following collection of excerpts dances flirtatiously between PG-13 and R ratings. If you think you’re up for it…fire away (but don’t say I didn’t warn you!):

You will love this show! This man is extremely talented. He has also made another series called We Can Be Heroes, whilst not as good, is still very clever. My favourite character from this series is Jonah, a Pacific Islander who is into hip hop. I find it difficult to comprehend how one man can play so many characters. You forget that it’s the same man each time. ‘

You know I have not seen anything quite like this Dave. hmmmm I don’t know what to make of this. Well, I have a 17 hr old daughter so I just observe and listen. What a diff twist on education huh?

Loved your comments about the BSJ. I made one for a pregnant friend. Did the bind-off and realize i messed up the last 5-10 rows. Threw it in a bag in the garage. The baby is now 9 mos old. Maybe I’ll get it done before he turns 5!

Ahhhh you have discovered MrG!!! Isn’t he a treat? I found Jonah uncomfortable to watch and Ja’ime is the most sublime clueless, spoilt biatch…but Mr G. Sheer hilarity. If you like Ja’ime, she was also in We Can Be Heroes.
Chris Lilley is a genius.

Ahh - Mr G. He totally rocks. Chris Lilley is fabulous. Disturbing and fabulous! Summer Heights High has to be one of the highlights of Australian TV.
