- The White House refused to accept the Environmental Protection Agency’s conclusion that greenhouse gases are pollutants that must be controlled, telling agency officials that an e-mail message containing the document would not be opened. Remember when you were a child and you didn't want to hear what your parents were telling you? You put your hands over your ears and loudly chanted nonsense words. Yep.
