The Nature Conservancy gets behind sustainable coffee

A few weeks ago, I corresponded with Jonathon Colman, the associate director of digital marketing at The Nature Conservancy (and possibly the most intense user of social media that I have ever encountered). Turns out he is a coffee lover and a fan of C&C, and had a few questions about sustainable coffee.

The result was a great piece on the Nature Conservancy web site in their "Everyday Environmentalist" section. There are several links back here to C&C posts. When you check it out, make sure to look at the many other great tips in the series. There are a few that are slightly unconventional (e.g., not the usual stuff you hear) that I find very important, including making sure you don't spread invasive plant species in the treads of your hiking boots, and giving away compact flourescent light bulbs when you travel. After that, browse around their web site some more, and find out why I have been a member for so many years and think that TNC is the best conservation organization in the world.
