Wii Number One In The US
NPS market research indicates that Nintendo Wii is now the best selling current gen console. Anita Frazier, industry analyst for NPD said, The videogames industry continues to perform in the face of an ever-increasingly difficult economic environment as many turn to more in-home entertainment. Even if growth slows over the back half of 2008, the industry is poised to achieve record-breaking revenues of over $22 billion for the year.
Wii has outsold the XBox 360 as well as the PS3 with a total of 666,700 units sold. Sony sold more than 405,000 PlayStation 3 due mainly to Metal Gear Solid 4, which is exclusive to the PS3. XBox 360 sat in the fifth place after Sony’s PSP.
