Alan Colmes, colossal jackass
But going after her by questioning her pre-natal decision making, even going so far as to imply that her poor judgement somehow led to her son Trig's developmental disabilities, is beyond the pale. Unfortunately it's not beyond Alan Colmes (one half of the Fox duo Hannity & Colmes) and some gomer named Rogers Cadenhead (his bio says he's the publisher of the Drudge Report and the author of some books on the Java programming language). Alan Colmes wrote on his blog:
Rogers Cadenhead gives the timeline associated with the birth of her newest
child. She had a speech in Dallas and, even after the water broke, continued
with her activities, and then boarded a plane for home. She did consult by
phone with her doctor.
Still, a Sacramento, Calif., obstetrician who is active in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, said when a pregnant woman's water breaks, she should go right to the hospital because of the risk of infection. That's true even if the amniotic fluid simply leaks out, said Dr. Laurie Gregg. When news of his monumental stupidity reached the blogosphere Colmes did what any cowardly liberal would do -- he yanked the post. Kim Priestap at Wizbang kept a screen grab. The comments at Cadenhead's site are even more outrageous.
There's a phrase "Catholic suicide" which refers to when depressed Catholics
becoming "mishap prone" and their deaths ruled as accidents.
It may be that by taking such extreme risks Palin was attempting a "Fundamentalist abortion". and
Several well-respected physicians spoke with my physician husband on different
occasions and came up with the same conclusion: she was trying to kill the
baby. No other reasonable explanation could be derived from this act of shear
stupidity and shameless self-promotion. A Down's child would forever be a
burden to her; many have already criticized her insatiable need for a national
level political position over the necessity of raising a special needs child.
I don't know how people who say things like that can look themselves in the mirror in the morning. Delving further into the fever swamp that is home to Cadenhead's acolytes I found this:
For those who haven't heard, it appears likely that she was never pregnant
(try and find a picture of her showing - there aren't any). Her 16 year old
daughter on the other hand started "showing" in December, and was suddenly
pulled out of school with "mono" for five months. Get the picture? The gov
has a new granddaughter but she's pretendng it's hers for "family honor."
This will be in the mainstream media soon.
God help us. I think I'm going to be sick.
