Little Rock Jams Rock School Auditions - Round II Saturday Sept 13th 2:00 p.m.
What were we thinking?
Yes, when we scheduled the first Rock School audition, we were obviously oblivious (say that 10 times fast) to the fact that it was Labor Day weekend.
We've had several requests to hold a second audition, which we will do this weekend...
Saturday September 13th, from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
The audition will cover the following:
Note Location – Be able to play any note called out (i.e. A B C D E F G) on the E and A strings.
Power Chords – Be able to locate and play any power chord in at least two locations.
Major Scale – Be able to play the major scale in any location.
Minor Pentatonic Scale – Be able to play the minor pentatonic scale in any location.
Open Position Chords – Be able to play as many major and minor open position chords as possible.
Chord Progression – Be able to play the following chord progression – G D / C using quarter strums.
Barre Chords - Be able to play major and minor barre chords with the root on the E and A string.
While we would love for you to nail all the material 100% perfectly, that's not what we're looking for. We are looking for the student that has a basic understanding of the material and the ability to play cleanly with solid rhythm.
Right now, we have 11 students in the program. Depending on turnout Saturday, we'll make the decision whether to go with one or two student bands for the program.
And, if we go with two student bands, you know we'll have to have a BATTLE OF THE BANDS !!!! contest ![]()
What should the prize be for the best band? Thoughts?

Wow, I thought it would be more of a "heh heh" kind of joke. What you did was on a whole other level though.
