Geass is over!
Shout it from the rooftops!
For now, that is pretty much all. I watched it with beer in hand — and I may have imagined this, but — I think my TV thanked me afterward. Then I had a steak dinner. Then I almost streaked naked through my apartment complex shouting about how Geass is over, it’s over, possibly with my hair on fire, but I realized that no one here has a goddam clue what a Geass is.
I’ll save most of my thoughts for one of the internet’s thousand billion review posts, but let me just say this: It ended much more respectably than I would have imagined, and I really don’t think the much-beloved Goro Taniguchi should quit anime forever.
Ding, dong, the pizza witch is dead! Figuratively speaking, of course, No spoilers.

hahaha… i wanted to watch it with a pizza hut because i was coincidentally given a coupon by a friend but there was so many leftovers from a party here at home. so i watched it with cold spaghetti and some mango cake. saving that coupon for a rainy day - which is soon because there’s another typhoon coming here.
but you’re right. the ending was respectable enough and since you didn’t post any spoilers, i won’t troll your post with them.

To tell the truth, it was a nice save, and my own sadness genuinely surprised me… But everything that’s happened since episode 21 still has a bad epilogue-ish smell about it, as if it was an afterthought, or even as if the writers were getting quite tired of their own show and the multitude of plot threads that had accumulated.
I will hold up what happens to Nunally at the end of 24/beginning of 25 as an absolutely splendid example of a knock-you-on-your-ass moment, however.

rollchan - I have a strict “no Gundam” rule that I violated by watching the first season of 00, but this time they won’t fool me!
biankita - mango cake sounds good. I am a little sad I missed my last chance to enjoy Geass+Pizza Hut, but that’s ok since their pizza has sucked for many years (at least here in the US). Good luck with the typhoon, don’t blow away.
Mr. K - Funny I was just reading how Kabitzin found it to be brilliant comedy. I think you’re both right. As for feeling like an epilogue… it’s not so bad, really, I’m just glad Taniguchi made it out with his ass intact. Maybe he’ll make something people will talk genuinely positively about next time. Maybe something else with weird capitalization like PlanetES or sCRYed.
blissmo - you vanish for like 2 months, then you come back just to put spoilers on my blog?? I swear, some people…
I guess at this point anyone coming here has probably seen it and really… was there any other way out?
