Bid on a 1-hour private lesson with Steve Vai !!!
Steve Vai has offered a 1 hour private lesson on EBay, with proceeds going to Allen Shellenberger Benefit.
Allen is the drummer for the band Lit and has recently been diagnosed with a grade 4 malignant brain tumor.
From the Ebay auction site...
"Biopsy results have identified Allen's tumor as diffused glioblastoma multiforme, the most aggressive of primary brain tumors. It is the same type of cancer Senator Edward M. Kennedy is battling. Allen is 38 years old and Lit has been a band and a brotherhood for over 20 years. Despite the news, Allen and the band are committed to the fight.
To help offset Allen's medical costs, The Make A Noise Foundation is sponsoring this auction through Ebay's Giving Works Program. All proceeds will benefit Allen Shellenberger and Cedars-Sinai's Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute in Los Angeles. Thank you so much for your support!"
If you've read this blog, you know I'm a huge Steve Vai fan. His creativity is amazing, but moreso, his discipline to reach deep down and put in the work to become a great musician is my main inspiration. I actually took the "What Would Jesus Do" slogan from a few years ago and for my practices, reworded it to "What Would Vai Do". I even had a WWVD sticky above my computer that I practice with.
Yeah, I'm a geek ... But back to the subject.
An hour with Steve Vai to talk music, play guitar and pick something from his mind would be a wonderful gift for many guitarists. If you have the money and the interest, check it out and make a bid!

Ok, this is the coolest thing. I play like a spaz so forget playing with him, heck I wouldnt even talk, Id just sit and listen to what his fingers have to say. Steve Vai is a definite Top 3 on my all time guitar heros list, and its cool that this helps out Allen.
Cheers and good luck to the winner.
