I guess it’s just been one of those weeks: Google is innovating all over this week. The latest changes that have been spotted come in Google’s bread and butter: the SERPs.
Both Barry Schwartz and Michael Gray posted about a new development in the SERPs: content attributes listed between the title and the snippet of results. The information provided there included the number of posts from the blog, the number of authors and the date of the last post:

Barry Schwartz also mentioned seeing an author byline listed below a search listing.
Naturally, the question is whether this information is useful enough to see widespread use. While it’s always possible, I’m guessing that this one will remain limited.
Also today, Google launches a new layout for Google News.
What do you think of these changes? And the perennial question—what will Google do next?

Content has always played a main role in Google and from my experience Yahoo is more to keywords factors. I have added a blog to my main site and it works like charm. Oh yeah, I use unique content. My serp went pretty high! Cheers

[...] Marketing Pilgrim reports that Google has added a new feature to its blog search SERPs. The feature is the addition of the number of blog posts made, the number of authors, and the date of the last blog post. Cool feature. Except that when I searched for blogs by keyword I didn’t see that feature in the SERP anywhere. I’d like to see it. Very helpful. [...]

I think that’s too much information because I don’t really care how many authors or posts there are on a blog when I’m searching. All I care about is finding the right page I’m looking for.
