This week, I discuss the Clinton blogger lunch in Harlem, the tech conference/"Web 2.0" white boys club syndrome, gay men, depression and sex addiction, and Nintendo's next-generation gaming system the Wii. Quite a spread, huh? Enjoy! Oh, and the interviews will be starting next week now that I have my configuration back. Got any questions? E-mail me at karsh@blackgayblogger.com.

Re: the Clinton lunch: HELL, Keith Boykin lives within blocks of Clinton's office!
Re: a Black blogger/technology conference/thingy: start small and build over time. Do what is manageable initially and let the response dictate how it grows.
Re: depression: things are difficult because folks have internalized externally-generated homophobia inflicted upon them from others. We've learned to hate ourselves as much as homophobes hate us, and thus have to overcome that first before we can learn how to love each other.

You made a good point about making our own things when we're inevitably excluded from mainstream events. Just like you created The Black Weblog Awards, we definitely need a Black (or Persons of Color) Podcast Awards. Because the Podcast Awards in existance do not care about people of color.

Hey Karsh — thanks for the mention and for connecting Clinton's gathering. Micah Sifry made the same connection on my blog and more and more I've discovered more instances of the issue I brought up.
While I can appreciate why you'd create your own event and won't argue against that, I still would encourage you to consider the need for diversity in such an event. I feel that it's important that we come at this from a lot of different angles in support of integration and inclusivity… from all walks of life. That's not always practical or possible, but it is something worth pursuing.
If you've not heard of it, it'd be great if you could pitch in with BarCampAtlanta. As a community-organized event, this might be just the kind of opportunity you're seeking!
